                                                Mythos

Premise

Board Pegasus as you venture into to the top of Mount Olympus and join the Ancient Greek gods and goddesses in an epic battle of good and evil, as you fly your way through the realms of ancient literature to stop the ruler of the underworld, Hades, from enacting his wrath on all of Greece on this dark ride hybrid coaster!

Facade

The attraction is enclosed inside the towering mountain structure of Mount Olympus - a roughly 170 ft tall mountain. At the base of the mountain is the queue. The inside of the mountain houses a variety of dark ride scenes, with the second half of the attraction being more of a "roller-coaster" and careening through the dark depths of the Underworld.

(The queue temple is built in Iconic Order as opposed to Doric or Corinthian in conjunction with the detail of Ancient Greek Architecture )

At the base of the 170 ft tall Mount Olympus is the entrance to Mythos. The queue travels through a Greek temple built in Iconic Order dedicated to Zeus, and scribes on the wall indicate to the guests his importance to Greek culture and belief systems. Other Greek gods are also featured in statue form encompassing the guests in the history and civilization that they have entered, transporting them back centuries ago when civilians based their lives around pray to these gods. The architecture of the temple is reminiscent of the detail and design of temples still standing today in Greece. The queue wanders around the temple and enters the loading area where guests board Pegasus.

The ride vehicle will be the mythical creature Pegasus. The vehicle itself will be able to seat twelve guests comfortably. 3 rows of 4, with the furthest lateral two guests in each row being on the "wing" of the animal, and off the ride track, giving those guests and even more breathtaking experience.

Ride-Through

Pegasus takes off and you ascend up Mount Olympus at a pretty decent pace (about 12-14 mph) which is quick for an ascent and guests feel the force as the creature charges up the mountain-side. As you reach the top you notice a golden glow from the apex of the mountain and as Pegasus slows down and levels out at about 145 feet, you enter the mountain through a tunnel dug out of the side and enter...Olympus. A golden shining metropolis, Olympus is the home to the Greek gods and you see them in AA for scattered throughout. You see Zeus sitting up on his chair as he says to his wife Hera, "I can feel that Hades is planning something sinister for the mortals of earth. We best keep a watchful eye out"

Pegasus meanders around Olympus and you see the gods in their everyday lives with clouds surrounding the scenes. A tint of golden encompasses the vehicles and you feel a sense of serenity and peace. Suddenly, the clouds turn grey and the gods are alerted to the presence of Hades and his thread headed dog Kerberos. The large AA stares down guests as the vehicles are pulled sideways and haulted as Zeus attaches a lightning bolt to the other side of the vehicle. A struggle occurs but Hades eventually wins and the vehicles plummet 80 feet into the Underworld. Pegasus narrowly misses the River of Souls and you make a sharp turn around the bend and attempt to escape. Zeus and the other gods enter the fray against Hades and his army of the dead and you dodge and duck your way through harrowing turns and drops as flashes of light fly all around you. The music swells as Zeus throws you up and out of the underworld and to Greece where Pegasus flies over civilians (guests) on the streets of Greece as you make your way back to the temple and to the unload station after your adventure with the gods.

This is a 30-min show between two Audio-Animatronic figues, Hippocrates and Aristotle, standing in the center of a lecture atrium giving a talk to the guests just like they would in Ancient Greek manuscripts. The show depicts the early Greek study of notable subjects, such as philosophy, mathematics, and clinical medicine and the somewhat spiritual approach they took to the subjects, but how they have had a lasting affect on our Western Culture today.

Among the topics are:

The Hippocratic Oath - "I swear by Apollo the physician, and Aesculpius the surgeon, likewise Hygeia and Panacea, and call all the gods and goddesses to witness, that I will observe and keep this underwritten oath, to the utmost of my power and judgment....." Every physician states the Hippocratic Oath, in a more modernized version, before they graduate medical school. The two figures discuss how the Ancient Greek language helped shape medical terminology for the future. For example, Hygeia = Hygiene. Panacea = cure.

Pulmonary Medicine - Hippocrates, considered to be the "Father of Medicine" discovered many things about the human body that are still used today, such as he was the first to diagnosis the clubbing of fingers as a sign of heart disease or other pulmonary complications.

Philosophy of Math and Science - Aristotle, taught under Plato, was a very profound philosopher and the discussion that he will have in the lecture hall with Hippocrates will be amount "man's" place in the Universe and among the stars.
